Already St. Augustine in Middle Ages had admired the elusive rapidity of how future turns into present but every moment of the present – into the past. Contemporary art, as its name suggests, should manage to reflect and experience something at this very moment of the present. The artists’ and the art’s persistent struggle with time during several centuries, casts doubts about the very foundation of art, namely, the notion what is what is not to be considered as art. Confronting with desperate perseverance contemplations of a professional contemporary art curator and a pastor the film reveals the unenviable situation of contemporary people in regard to contemporary art. It impels not only to ask seemingly non-contemporary and perhaps even eternal questions what exactly ensures to a contemporary art work a lasting place in history of art, but it also urges one to think that perhaps it is beyond the power of both of the artists themselves, the spectators and people in general to find the answer.
