"The Keys" tell about the most significant or key events, personalities and turning points in the history of Latvia from 1918 to the present day. Each episode cover one event. The purpose of "The Keys" is to reveal each selected event from an unusual point of view, as if "unlocking the door" to lesser-known and therefore particularly intriguing facts. Such an inquisitive approach, bypassing the usual stereotypes of history representation, will allow the audience to see what is supposedly known through different eyes and to better understand what happened a long time ago in the context of today's experience.
